About Equine Exchange

Your local tack shop — run by horse people who actually ride.

Welcome to Equine Exchange

Whether you're shopping for your first riding lesson or preparing for a championship show, you'll find knowledgeable people, quality brands, and one of the area's largest selections of new and consignment tack and apparel—all under one roof.

For nearly twenty years, we've helped riders across Chester, Montgomery, Berks, and surrounding counties find the right equipment with honest advice from people who actually use it.

We'd love to help you, too.

Why Riders Make the Drive

  • Thousands of products plus one of the region's largest equestrian consignment selections.
  • Knowledgeable staff who ride and can help you find the right fit, not just make a sale.
  • Professional helmet and show outfit fittings for riders of all ages and experience levels.
  • English and Western equipment for everyday riding, lessons, and competition.
  • Services you won't find everywhere, including blanket cleaning, leather repair, embroidery, and bit rental.
  • A welcoming, no-pressure atmosphere where horse people enjoy talking horses as much as helping you shop.

One of southeastern Pennsylvania's largest tack shops, offering thousands of products for horse and rider, plus one of the region's largest equestrian consignment selections. since 2008.  We’re built for the horse community — backyard riders, working professionals who spend more on their horses than themselves, kids working their way up through the show ring, and everyone who just happens to feel most at home in the barn.

How we got here

In 2008, Michelle was working at a local tack store that was dabbling in consignment. When the owner decided to shut the consignment side down, a lot of loyal customers were left without a good place to turn. So Michelle opened her own shop — a small equestrian consignment store with additional essentials people needed. Almost twenty years later, we’ve grown into a full-service tack shop carrying great brands riders trust, plus one of the biggest consignment operations in the county.

Who you’ll meet

Nearly everyone on our team rides and shows — so when you walk in asking about a bit, a show coat, or whether those breeches are going to hold up through a full season, you’re talking to someone who’s been in your boots.

  • Michelle (owner) — rides for pleasure, runs the shop
  • Brooke (store manager) — hunters
  • Fay (media / assistant manager) — eventing, driving, and breeds Shetland ponies
  • Debbie (consignment manager) — longtime horsewoman, runs consignment with a system that actually works
  • Cheryl (shipping & receiving) — dressage, and loves a long hack through the countryside
  • Quinn (sales floor) — hunters, driving
  • Eliana — western pleasure
  • Liz — dressage
  • Diana — dressage and combined training
  • Susan — fox hunting

Most of us are certified helmet fitters through Charles Owens, and a lot of us grew up showing in the hunters and hunt seat equitation ring — so if you’re outfitting a kid for their first show or yourself for a rated division, you’re in good hands.

What we do

We’re a full-service shop — not just a place to grab a halter and leave.

  • Helmet fitting — Charles Owens certified
  • Show outfit fitting — coats, breeches, boots, kids to adults
  • Bit rental — try before you buy, because nobody should drop $200 on a bit they’ll hate in a week
  • Embroidery & custom — barn names, license plates, fun custom pieces
  • Blanket cleaning — through a partner service that does a fabulous job
  • Consignment — quality used tack and apparel, especially helpful for growing kids

Giving back

The horse community has shown up for us for almost twenty years, and we try to return the favor. We support local food drives, donate to area horse rescues, and partner with horse shows and equestrian organizations across the region. One sock drive in the store ended up collecting more than 1,200 pairs of socks from customers and friends — that kind of thing happens here because the people who walk through our door are good ones.

We’re proud to support French Creek Equestrian Association, Oley Valley Combined Training Association, The Farmer’s Union, Sebastian Therapeutic Riding Program, Camp Sankanac Riding Program, and Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines.

Why we do it this way

We’re not here to get rich. We’re here because the horse community deserves a shop that fits real people and real horses — where the margins are reasonable, the used gear is genuinely good, and the advice comes from someone who’s actually ridden in it. If you love your horse and the barn is your happy place, this is your shop.

Come by. We’ll help you find what you need — and we’ll probably want to hear about your horse while we do.

Come visit us

Whether you're new to horses or you've been riding for years, you're always welcome here.

Stop in, explore the store, meet our team, and see why riders from across Chester, Montgomery, Berks, and beyond make the drive to Equine Exchange.

We hope to see you soon—and we'll probably want to hear about your horse while we're at it.
